The nudge

A quotes app that
tells you to stop.

Most apps are built to keep you scrolling. Morning Line counts instead. Somewhere between 20 and 30 quotes a day, it suggests you put the phone down and go read something real.

Choose to keep going and it asks again sooner, after 10 to 15 more. It never locks you out. It just won't pretend another quote is the same as doing the thing.

Today's quotesnudge at 24
How ads fit in. The app is free with a small banner. The one full-screen ad appears only when you pick “Keep scrolling”. Take the nudge and close the app, and you never see it.
The deck

Dealt like cards,
not picked at random.

Random apps repeat themselves within days. Morning Line shuffles all 6,246 quotes into a deck only your phone knows, deals them in order, and remembers your place. Every quote comes up once before any comes back.

250days before a repeat
Start today and the first quote you could see twice turns up around June 2027.
The shelf

Eight decks,
each keeps your place.

In the mood for courage, not success? Switch decks. Each one is shuffled on its own and remembers exactly where you stopped, so you can wander between them and never lose your page. Pull one off the shelf.

Questions

Asked,
answered.

Does it need the internet?

No. Every quote is bundled in the app, and the daily notification is scheduled on your phone. Ads are the only part that uses the network.

Will I see the same quote twice?

Not for a long time. Each deck is shuffled once and dealt in order, so every quote in it comes up before any repeats. Your place is saved after every quote, so closing the app doesn't reset anything.

What data does it collect?

Morning Line has no account and no servers. Your favorites, reading position and settings stay on your phone. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which collects some device data to show and measure them. The privacy policy lists exactly what.

Is it on Android?

Yes, on Google Play, with the same quotes, decks, daily quote and a home-screen widget. The Lock Screen widget is iPhone-only, because Android doesn't allow them.

Can I share a quote?

Yes, from the share button under any quote. Favorite the ones that land and they're kept in one list.

Start tomorrow with one good line.
